Who Exposed Secret Agent Plame?
How about the least likely suspect?

The first reference to Plame being a secret agent appears in The Nation, in an article by David Corn published July 16, 2003, just two days after Novak’s column appeared. It carried this lead: “Did Bush officials blow the cover of a U.S. intelligence officer working covertly in a field of vital importance to national security — and break the law — in order to strike at a Bush administration critic and intimidate others?”

Since Novak did not report that Plame was “working covertly” how did Corn know that’s what she had been doing?

On what basis could Corn “assume” that Plame was not only working covertly but was actually a “top-secret” operative? And where did Corn get the idea that Plame had been “outed” in order to punish Wilson? That is not suggested by anything in the Novak column which, as I noted, is sympathetic to Wilson and Plame.

The likely answer: The allegation that someone in the administration leaked to Novak as a way to punish Wilson was made by Wilson — to Corn. But Corn, rather than quote Wilson, puts the idea forward as his own.

Media chants aside, there's no evidence that Mr. Rove broke any laws in telling reporters that Ms. Plame may have played a role in her husband's selection for a 2002 mission to investigate reports that Iraq was seeking uranium ore in Niger. To be prosecuted under the 1982 Intelligence Identities Protection Act, Mr. Rove would had to have deliberately and maliciously exposed Ms. Plame knowing that she was an undercover agent and using information he'd obtained in an official capacity. But it appears Mr. Rove didn't even know Ms. Plame's name and had only heard about her work at Langley from other journalists.

If there's any scandal at all here, it is that this entire episode has been allowed to waste so much government time and media attention, not to mention inspire a "special counsel" probe. The Bush Administration is also guilty on this count, since it went along with the appointment of prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in an election year in order to punt the issue down the road. But now Mr. Fitzgerald has become an unguided missile, holding reporters in contempt for not disclosing their sources even as it becomes clearer all the time that no underlying crime was at issue.

As for the press corps, rather than calling for Mr. Rove to be fired, they ought to be grateful to him for telling the truth.

Session ends. Detainee is returned to Guest Suite. Detainee notes that, the previous night, air conditioning in Guest Suite was set at 73 degrees fahrenheit and that Room Service served him filet mignon that was well done when he specifically requested medium rare. Jordan king:Iraq refused to deport Zarqawi

BEIRUT, Lebanon, May 19 (UPI) -- Jordan's King Abdullah revealed Thursday that Iraq's former Baath regime had refused to deport Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, blamed for ongoing terrorism in Iraq.

Speaking in an interview with Saudi daily al-Hayat, Abdullah said Zarqawi, a Jordanian, is well entrenched in Iraq and that "he and terrorists like him thrive in such places where security and stability are non-existent."

Abdullah said Jordan was the first target for Zarqawi before he found safe haven in Iraq.

"Since Zarqawi entered Iraq before the fall of the former regime we have been trying to have him deported back to Jordan for trial, but our efforts were in vain," Abdullah added.

Zarqawi, the purported leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, is accused of terrorist bombings targeting U.S.-led multinational troops and Iraqi forces as well as civilians.

Abdullah also pointed out that "real reforms are forthcoming in all countries of the Middle East," stressing, however, that "true change should come from within and not be imposed from outside."

Apple has won its legal fight to make three bloggers reveal who told them about unreleased products.

The bid to unmask the employees leaking information was launched in December 2004 following online articles about Apple's Asteroid product.

Now Apple has won the right to see e-mail records from the three bloggers to root out the culprit.

A lawyer for the three bloggers said the ruling set a dangerous precedent that could harm all news reporters.

Franklin knew quite well the value of Christianity to society. In the context of teaching history to the youth of Philadelphia, he said:

History will also afford the frequent opportunities of showing the necessity of a public religion, from its usefulness to the public; the advantage of a religious character among private persons; the mischiefs of superstition, &c. and the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern.

This is not to say that Franklin was a Christian; he did not believe in the divinity of Christ. This is easily documented. However, he was well aware of the utility of religion in general and Christianity specifically. In a letter to his daughter, Franklin stated:

Go constantly to church, whoever preaches. The act of devotion in the Common Prayer Book is your principal business there, and if properly attended to, will do more towards amending the heart than sermons generally can do. For they were composed by men of much greater piety and wisdom, than our common composers of sermons can pretend to be; and therefore I wish you would never miss the prayer days; yet I do not mean you should despise sermons, even of the preachers you dislike, for the discourse is often much better than the man, as sweet and clear waters come through very dirty earth. I am the more particular on this head, as you seemed to express a little before I came away some inclination to leave our church, which I would not have you do.

Baghdad, Iraq — Iraqi officials said Sunday that Syria captured and handed over Saddam Hussein's half brother, a most-wanted leader in the Sunni-based insurgency, ending months of Syrian denials that it was harboring fugitives from the ousted Saddam regime. Iraq authorities said Damascus acted in a gesture of goodwill.

Sabawi Ibrahim al-Hassan, who shared a mother with Saddam, was nabbed along with 29 other fugitive members of the former dictator's Baath Party in Hasakah in northeastern Syria, 30 miles from the Iraqi border, the officials said on condition of anonymity. The U.S. military in Iraq had no immediate comment.

Syria is under intense pressure from the United States, the United Nations, France and Israel to drop its support for radical groups in the Middle East, to stop harboring Iraqi fugitives and to remove its troops from Lebanon.

Bill Burkett, the former Texas national guardsman who provided CBS with the bogus documents it used to allege that President Bush evaded the draft and used family connections to cover up his shoddy military service, spoke out against the network in a 2,600-word letter addressed to the quasi-independent panel which CBS had appointed to investigate the whole Memogate affair.

In the letter, which the panel's legal representative confirmed receiving, Burkett says that CBS blamed him for its own failures in order to minimize the damage to its own reputation.

In his message, Burkett implies that he is considering legal recourse for being maligned by CBS, the panel, and Dan Rather's "Evening News."

Man Charged in Alleged Plot to Kill Bush

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - A former Virginia high school valedictorian who had been detained in Saudi Arabia as a suspected terrorist was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and with supporting the al-Qaida terrorist network.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court but did not enter a plea. He claimed that he was tortured while detained in Saudi Arabia since June of 2003 and offered through his lawyer to show the judge his scars.

The federal indictment said that in 2002 and 2003 Abu Ali and an unidentified co-conspirator discussed plans for Abu Ali to assassinate Bush. They discussed two scenarios, the indictment said, one in which Abu Ali "would get close enough to the president to shoot him on the street" and, alternatively, "an operation in which Abu Ali would detonate a car bomb."

According to the indictment, Abu Ali obtained a religious blessing from another unidentified co-conspirator to assassinate the president.

This would have been a comfortable nest egg, which would have eased the loss."

They defied the threats and the danger they knew they were going to face and voted. They voted! Men and Woman, old and young. Clerics smiling looking at their purple finger. They brought sweets for the little ones. There was dancing and celebrations. Tears and laughter. Hugs for everyone. Most of us now have purple ink spots all over our uniforms and its permnant. Just as I think this wave of courage and pride is Permnant. It was a good day in Gods world today.

Oh, but he will.

1. He can't be sure when the bloom will fade.

Sure, Obama is a huge celebrity now, an eloquent, charismatic embodiment of the best the Democratic Party can offer. But The Next Big Thing multiplied by Overexposure plus Time equals Yesterday's News.

Momentum like he has now is a powerful commodity, and there's no guarantee--not even much chance--that he'll still have anything like it in 2012.

2. The Democratic field appears weak.

Hillary Clinton has come out on top of every survey I've seen in which pollsters ask Democrats whom they'd like to see atop the ticket in 2008.

But I suspect this is the name-recognition factor at work, and that when primary season rolls around, Democrats will see her as a poisonously polarizing figure who will build a bridge back to the 20th Century and those dreadful Clinton Wars.

Other names mentioned along with Obama include John Edwards, John Kerry, Al Gore, Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, Joseph Biden, Tom Vilsack, Mark Warner, Russ Feingold, Evan Bayh, Harold Ford Jr. and Bill Richardson.

Among average Democrats, Obama's is the only name that doesn't tend to provoke either a yawn, a puzzled look or an anguished cry of, "Please, God, not again!"

3. The Republican field looks weak too.

Vice President Dick Cheney is out of the picture for health reasons, so unless he resigns and someone else takes his place, the 2008 presidential election will be the first since 1952 in which an incumbent president or vice president isn't running.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani might be formidable in the general election but is too moderate to survive the GOP primary process. Sen. John McCain's time will have passed. Ahn-old can't run because he's foreign-born.

There's talk of Bill Frist, George Pataki, George Allen, Mitt Romney, Bill Owens, Chuck Hagel, Haley Barbour and Jeb Bush, but it doesn't leave Democrats crumpled in despair and resignation.

4. Another shooting-star, hope-for-tomorrow politician is coming up behind him in the Democratic ranks.

Four years ago, Obama was a little-known state senator still licking his wounds after taking a 30-point thrashing in a 2000 congressional primary.

And though we don't know who he is today, four years from now, some currently obscure but brilliant young man or woman will be the talk of Washington and on everybody's short list for the 2012 national ticket.

The brass ring may also still be there for Obama to grab in 2012, but ...

5. A long voting record in Congress has a way of muddying the track for presidential hopefuls.

We're often reminded that, though many have tried, only two men in history--Warren G. Harding, in 1921, and John F. Kennedy, in 1961--have moved directly from the U.S. Senate to the White House.

A big reason seems to be that the legislative process demands significant compromises and yes/no votes on often complicated proposals--all of which opponents then twist, chop into misleading sound bites and throw back in your face during campaigns.

6. The chance might not present itself again until 2016.

If another Democrat wins the presidency in 2008, that person will likely run for re-election in 2012. In 2016 Obama will only be 54 going on 55, but reasons 1, 4 and 5 above suggest he won't be as attractive a candidate.

7. He'll have the money.

Obama is the Midas of fundraisers these days, and his spokesman Robert Gibbs says his campaign fund still (already) has roughly $600,000.

8. He'll want at least to lay the groundwork for future national races.

Win or lose, making friends in Iowa and New Hampshire and testing himself in the early caucus-primary season against tougher challengers than Alan Keyes won't hurt Obama's long-term prospects. His political style is well-suited to small-state races.

Gibbs denied again Wednesday that Obama will run in 2008.

Don't you believe it.

In past years, the story line has involved Angry White Males, or Willie Horton-bashing racists. This year, the official story is that throngs of homophobic, Red America values-voters surged to the polls to put George Bush over the top.

This theory certainly flatters liberals, and it is certainly wrong.

Here are the facts. As Andrew Kohut of the Pew Research Center points out, there was no disproportionate surge in the evangelical vote this year. Evangelicals made up the same share of the electorate this year as they did in 2000. There was no increase in the percentage of voters who are pro-life. Sixteen percent of voters said abortions should be illegal in all circumstances. There was no increase in the percentage of voters who say they pray daily.

The third Bush-Kerry debate may not change the outcome of the presidential election in November. But it may well be remembered as a milestone in the struggle for gay equality and acceptance. Give the credit for that to John Kerry.

Toward the end of the debate, moderator Bob Schieffer asked both candidates if they believed homosexuality was a choice. President Bush said he didn't know. Kerry said that it is inborn, and cited an authority on the subject. "I think if you talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she'll say she is being who she was, she's being who she was born as," he said.

Why Cheney's daughter? Kerry knows lots of famous people who believe - as he says Mary Cheney believes - that they were born gay. He could have cited Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank or New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey. Both are public men who could offer personal testimony about the inborn nature of homosexuality.

But that wasn't the point Kerry wanted to make. He was crying Mary to send a message to presumably homophobic Christian voters: Just in case you hadn't heard, the vice president harbors a practicing lesbian in the bosom of his family.

Despite Kerry's angel-faced sanctimony, this was a piece of premeditated gay-baiting (John Edwards used the same gambit in his debate with Cheney) whose transparent purpose was to keep some of the GOP's evangelical voters from turning out on Nov. 2. This was a miscalculation.

Since the debate, the Christian right has been rallying to the side of Mary Cheney. Well-known political preachers like Jerry Falwell and James Dobson have gone out of their way to defend her right to privacy. Conservative radio talk shows and Web sites have been flooded with denunciations of Kerry and support for Mary.

This reaction doesn't mean that the evangelical community has changed its doctrine, or its mind, on the sinful nature of homosexuality. It does reveal, however, that most born-again Protestants are not nearly as extreme - or as politically one-dimensional - as Kerry evidently imagined them to be.

Why this should come as a surprise to the Democratic candidate is a mystery. Kerry knows from his own experience that many practicing Catholics habitually vote for pro-choice candidates, even if they have been specifically warned by their priests that doing so would be a sin. In Massachusetts and around the country, Catholic liberals vote as liberals, not as Catholics.

The same is true of Jews. Israel is at war, and Bush is the strongest ally it has ever had in the White House. Ariel Sharon has done everything to communicate this short of singing "God Bless America" at the Republican convention. And still the majority of American Jewish Zionists will vote for Kerry. Why? Because they are liberal Democrats first, and politics trumps religion.

The same is true for evangelical conservatives. Would they prefer for Mary Cheney to be a happily married mother of five? Sure. Do they think she is a sinner? Probably. Will that keep them from voting for Bush and her father? Heck, no.

Politically, Kerry won't benefit from playing the Mary card. But that doesn't mean he hasn't accomplished something of value. Many conservative Christians are for the first time publicly embracing an avowed homosexual. This puts them in touch with their real priorities and values - including that cardinal Kerry virtue, nuance.

Mary Cheney may be gay, but it turns out there are worse things. At least she isn't a Democrat.

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australian Prime Minister John Howard, a key U.S. ally and supporter of the Iraq war, resoundingly beat center-left opposition Labor at a national election on Saturday to win a fourth straight term in office.

Howard was returned with what appears certain to be an increased majority and in December will become Australia's second-longest serving prime minister.

"This nation stands on the threshold of a new era of great achievement ... a nation which can achieve anything it wants, if its sets its mind to it," a beaming Howard told supporters at a downtown Sydney hotel with his wife Janette and their three children by his side.

Gleeful members of Howard's Liberal/National coalition said the government's strong economic record had clearly tipped the balance against Labor and its 43-year-old leader, Mark Latham.

SADDAM Hussein believed that the United Nations system was so corrupt that it would protect his dictatorship from American aggression and allow him to complete quickly his quest for weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Detail from the full Iraq Survey Group report - compiled from scores of former Iraqi officials and captured intelligence documents - shows that Saddam was intending to resume his WMD programme as soon as UN sanctions were dropped.

His officials believed they could make WMD within two years - but the only flaw in their strategy was to think that Tony Blair and President George Bush would not invade Iraq without explicit UN permission.

But it gets better......

Mr Aziz continued that "Saddam never even suggested to them that he did not have WMD". Even his minister for Scientific Research - a euphemism for weapons detail - told US interrogators that "Saddam never talked openly about bluffing in regard to WMD".

This explains why British and American intelligence did not pick up any doubt that WMD still existed - their absence was a secret known only to Saddam.

Here are a few random crituques and comments from some of the internets most observant posters (in MY opinion)........

Edwards was so flustered that he violated the debate rules by interrupting the Vice-President on several occasions, not answering the questions he was asked, and repeatedly trying to change the subject.

In all the areas where he was uncomfortable, e.g., his and Kerry's non-existent record of achievement in the Senate, he stuttered, stammered, and tried to float meaningless platitudes.

It was obvious to me that Mr. Edwards was unfit to be a heartbeat away from his Unfit For Command partner John Kerry. And it was equally obvious to me that Edwards had his ass handed to him - gift wrapped.

John Edwards is a fine and skilled debater but he reminded me of a used car salesman. There was just something kind of plastic and phony about him. Cheney was not nearly the TV performer that Edwards is but he seemed far more calm, informed, authentic and real to me. I'd feel much safer having Cheney next to me in a crisis than John Edwards even with all his acting skills.

OK just caught debate rerun on CNN. What can one say about John Edwards's performance? He certainly did not make Al Gore's error in 1996: With his repeated and worshipful descriptions of John Kerry--not to mention Edwards's moist good looks--you have to say that he would fill the role of First Lady much better than Teresa Heinz is likely to do. It would all have been very impressive--if Cheney's scalpel had not so swiftly and mercilessly sliced Edwards's living liver out of his body, impaled it quivering on a stick, and paraded it before Edwards' soulful eyes before the poor man expired.

The line about John Kerry's weakness in the face of Howard Dean landed with the force of a hammer blow. Cheney was reminding voters of the crucial fact of the Democratic campaign: Kerry's dangerous combination of opportunism and fearfulness. Throughout his career in the Senate, John Kerry espoused a leftism verging on pacifism. In 1990, he showed that he would not stand up against Saddam even when Saddam invaded, conquered, and annexed an American ally: Kuwait.

Consumed with presidential ambition, Kerry reversed himself in 2002 and cast a vote for military action against Iraq. But the war proved tougher than Kerry expected, Howard Dean came along to pander to the pacifist fringe of the Democratic party--and Kerry panicked. He switched sides on the war. Then he won the nomination, saw the national polls, and switched sides again.

Yet Gwen Ifill in her question on flip-flopping suggested that Kerry's deep indecisiveness on the question of war or peace was no more serious than the Bush administration's internal debate over whether Homeland Security was best overseen by a secretary or an assistant to the president! Yes it's true: The Bush administration has sometimes changed its mind about how to fight this war. Kerry can't make up his mind whether to fight it--or even whether there's a war on or not.

As Cheney also said: "I can think of many words to describe Senator Kerry's position on Iraq--consistent isn't one of them."

Then there was the steady pounding of Edwards's own record: The reminder that Sen. Edwards deftly avoided $600,000 in Medicare taxes; that Cheney rose from humbler circumstances than Edwards's own and devoted more of his life to public service; his refual to criticize Edwards personally even as he underscored Edwards's utter lack of relevant experience and his professional role in driving obstetricians out of business. Ouch, ouch, ouch again.

But it was not just Cheney who triumphed. It was Edwards who again and again erred. Edwards's public manner is corny at best, smarmy at worst. In this debate, he was at his worst, perhaps nowhere more so than in that incredibly impertinent remark about the vice president's daughter. And did John Edwards really mean to say that the bright light of America is flickering because families have sons or daughters serving in the military overseas? Isn't he proud of those troops?

Wrong, wrong, wrong again. No wonder that by the end, Cheney seemed to be looking at Edwards with the compassionate regret of a trusted family vet appraising a puppy that just has not got the strength to survive.

A Kerry ad implies Cheney has a financial interest in Halliburton and is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. The fact is, Cheney doesn't gain a penny from Halliburton's contracts, and almost certainly won't lose even if Halliburton goes bankrupt.

The ad claims Cheney got $2 million from Halliburton "as vice president," which is false. Actually, nearly $1.6 million of that was paid before Cheney took office. More importantly, all of it was earned before he was a candidate, when he was the company's chief executive.

Iran Rejects Kerry Nuclear Proposal

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran on Sunday rejected a proposal by U.S. presidential candidate John Kerry who has suggested supplying the Islamic state with nuclear fuel for power reactors if Tehran agrees to give up its own fuel-making capability.

Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said it would be "irrational" for Iran to put its nuclear program in jeopardy by relying on supplies from abroad.

"We have the technology (to make nuclear fuel) and there is no need for us to beg from others," Asefi told a weekly news conference.

ATLANTA (Reuters) - Secretary of State Colin Powell on Friday rejected Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry's charge that the Bush administration had bungled a chance to catch Osama bin Laden in late 2001.

U.S.-led forces ousted the fundamentalist Taliban rulers shortly after a fierce battle in Tora Bora in December, 2001. It is believed that bin Laden slipped out of the heavily-bombed region around this time, possibly fleeing into Pakistan.

Powell said U.S. and Pakistani forces were continuing to search for bin Laden, whose al Qaeda network carried out the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. Powell denied Kerry's suggestion that the U.S.-led war in Iraq had diverted attention and resources from the hunt.

I can't understand why ANYONE in the military would support this Kerry guy for Commander in Chief... First he calls all of their hard work "a mess", then he refers to those who CHOOSE to re-enlist a "backdoor draft" (an insult to all those who bravely volunteer for our outstanding military!) He considers their job in Iraq a "diversion" ...He voted against funding our troops as a "protest" vote ( ahh.. memories of '71) ..and NOW, his party is not only lying about Bush wanting a draft.. but he fails to disclose that it's HIS party that REALLY introduced the new draft bill... Who needs this kind of opportunist leading our country?
I, for one, believe our troops deserve WAY better!

KID ROCK BLASTS POLITICAL ROCKERS FOR IGNORING THE TROOPS

KID ROCK has blasted his rock peers who are involved with American politics - because none of them flew to Iraq to perform for their war heroes.

The rocker wowed troops when he and actress BRITTANY MURPHY jetted off to meet and greet soldiers in Baghdad last year (JUN03), and now he's angry that those who didn't salute men and women stationed in Iraq are touring to raise cash for President GEORGE W BUSH's rival JOHN KERRY on the VOTE FOR CHANGE tour.

He states, "You see this thing now where like BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, JON BON JOVI - like I love all these guys as musicians - they're gonna raise money for John Kerry. God bless 'em.

"But, before you go and do that, why don't these motherf**kers go over there and play for our soldiers in Iraq? I'm not vocal about my views on the war. I'm just vocal about my views on the troops."

Rock, real name BOB RITCHIE, insists rockers have no right getting involved with politics.

He adds, "I do not believe that artists or actors and people should be out there like voicing their full-blown opinions on politics because, let's face it, at the end of the day, I'm not that smart of a guy. I play rock 'n' roll, that's what I do.

"Who would you trust to make your decisions, (US Secretary of Defence) DONALD RUMSFELD or the DIXIE CHICKS?"

Rock made his remarks while hosting an MTV barbecue for a group of soldiers returning from Iraq at his ranch home in Detroit, Michigan.

The rocker admitted he'll always be immensely proud of the soldiers he has met: "They don't make the decisions. They get up and go do their job."

Bush and 'But'-Head
John Kerry made some strong and sensible statements during the debate last night, but did you notice what the next word usually was? Here are some Kerry quotes:

* "I'll never give a veto to any country over our security. But . . ."

* "I believe in being strong and resolute and determined. And I will hunt down and kill the terrorists, wherever they are. But . . ."

* "We have to be steadfast and resolved, and I am. And I will succeed for those troops, now that we're there. We have to succeed. We can't leave a failed Iraq. But . . ."

* "I believe that we have to win this. The president and I have always agreed on that. And from the beginning, I did vote to give the authority, because I thought Saddam Hussein was a threat, and I did accept that intelligence. But . . ."

* "I have nothing but respect for the British, Tony Blair, and for what they've been willing to do. But . . ."

* "What I want to do is change the dynamics on the ground. And you have to do that by beginning to not back off of the Fallujahs and other places, and send the wrong message to the terrorists. You have to close the borders. You've got to show you're serious in that regard. But . . ."

* "I couldn't agree more that the Iraqis want to be free and that they could be free. But . . ."

* "No president, through all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to pre-empt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America. But . . ."

* "I've never wavered in my life. I know exactly what we need to do in Iraq, and my position has been consistent: Saddam Hussein is a threat. He needed to be disarmed. We needed to go to the U.N. The president needed the authority to use force in order to be able to get him to do something, because he never did it without the threat of force. But . . ."

Maybe Kerry misunderstood when someone told him he needed to have the "qualifications" to be president. But it'd inspire a lot more confidence if he had followed any of these remarks with a "therefore" clause instead of a "but" one.

Okay.. I think I almost have this figured out, I want to thank Blogger.com for a free forum to rant... life is good.

Last night, we watched what will be the first of three Presidential debates for the upcoming Nov. election. I was anxiously awaiting this debate and felt a little let down by all of the rules and restrictions. However, I think both candidates did quite well, I'm not a fan of John Kerry, but for the first time, he seems to at least LOOK like he knew what he meant... this will probably benefit his campaign..... As for Bush, well, he did look a bit off-game to me, I've seen him perform much better, but to his credit, he stood firm in his beliefs and goals and I feel that the public will recognize this. I think he got a few points over on Kerry too... I had to chuckle about the sanctions confusion on Kerry's part and I was pleased to see Bush correct him not once.. but twice on that issue. I also found it amusing that Kerry insists it would be better to knock China from the table in negotiating with N. Korea... Who is feeding him this kind of advice anyway???? And lastly, I was happy to hear Bush mention in his closing statement that our military would remain Voluntary, countering the dirty rumors spewing from Charley Rangel and his democratic counterparts to make it appear that Bush wants a return of the dreaded draft. SHAME ON YOU CHARLES!
